The Oil Poet (Part 1)

It is dawn and the long night is finally passing
Yellowish bright rays open up into the sky
The sickle -shaped sun begins to rise from the east
Beautiful rays follows it fully covering the sky
Southward winds begin to approach the mountain tops
The winds carry clouds to the peaks of Rwenzori

Fear fills the Rwenzori and her people seek shelter
Small rain drizzles but later big rain drops
Fills the area with streams running down to the valley
Dark-brown waters collects at the doors off her inhabitants
Indoor murmurs immediately cover the entire vicinity
Old and young all alike were totally confused

Many still but unclear conversations left the rooms
The sound oil quickly left the square shaped windows
A blessing to the nation as many whispered to each other
Oil is a blessing to Uganda as we have prepared enough
The elders never stopped explaining to the young

Uganda discovered 6.5 billion barrels of crude oil in 2006
This created many jobs and enterprising opportunities
This calls for youths to acquire the right marketable skills
Professionals need to register on the national talent register
Businesses need to register on the national supplier database
